Water Stop Information

General Information
Our Saturday runs normally feature water stops every 2.5 to 3 miles. These water stops are technically designated for AORTA members but non-members are also invited to use them. This page provides information on how to sign up for a water stop and also the minimum required supplies to adequately setup a water stop.

Water stop signs and coolers are available at the following location: 1536 Professional Parkway, Auburn, AL. Coolers and signs can be picked up Monday through Thursday from 8AM-4PM and Fridays from 8AM-12 noon. Items are in the room next to the back door. If you are unable to pick up supplies on these dates/times, please e-mail me at clemster@aol.com to make alternative arrangements.

How to Sign Up for a Saturday Water Stop

AORTA uses a free, easy-to-use web-based sign up tool called Signup Genius www.signupgenius.com.  Our page is named AORTA WATER STOPS.  Although you do not need a login to sign up for a waterstop, having an account will make it easier to find the page in the future and receive reminders. Should you choose to set up an account, the login will be your email address and a password of your own choosing. Email links from the site are sent out periodically when future water stops are available for sign up. Members in good standing will receive updates directly through the email address listed on your registration form. If you wish to add/delete/change your email address please email those changes to: clemster@aol.com.

Weekly updates will also be provided via Facebook.

All sign-ups need to be made through the Signup Genius site.

AORTA Saturday Waterstops - Please Setup by 6AM

Minimum recommended supplies to setup a water stop:
- AORTA Water Stop sign (see below for water stop signs)
- Cooler & ice (see below for coolers)
- 1 Gallon of Water
- 5-6 (32 oz) or 2-3 (64 oz) sports drinks (i.e. - Gatorade / Powerade)
   **Include both sugar and no-sugar alternatives**
- 30 small cups
- Trash bag for used bottles and cups
** Remember to cleanup the waterstop by 10AM or so and return signs **
